Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that...

"Open bar". Up until around 3 months ago, that phrase only brought one idea to mind; people getting embarrassingly drunk at an acquaintances' wedding.

Actually, it still basically means the same thing, but now, I'm forced to be on the other side of the wedding. Dealing with inebriated guests is always a hassle, especially from an A/V POV.

No, I'm not the DJ. No, I can't(or won't) play "Pokerface". Yes, I know how many watts I'm pushing.

It seems that when the lot of these "social" drinkers start hitting the bottle, they become audio or lighting guru's. Apparently, having a BOSE wave system in your "man cave" makes you an expert.

I'm by no means an expert either. I'm 22, I have a lot of learning to do, but I'm not going to go get sauced and interrupt your place of business with erratic questions about whatever it is that YOU do. Working 16 hour days is stressful enough, but please, unless your question is of the "life or death" variety, keep it to yourself until I'm not busy. I'll gladly answer you're question about your Lions Club's P.A. system(The gentlemen actually had some valuable questions regarding ohm loads and the like) when I'm done fighting off the evil forces of side fills.

Although I'm more than likely coming off overly cynical, and believe me I know, I genuinely enjoy all the inquiries that come with a job that requires me to sit behind a giant board that has the brain capacity of HAL9000. I actually get pretty excited when I can help someone with their personal audio questions. It's quite rewarding.
